Travelette Review: Holiday Inn Berlin City Center

Holiday Inn Berlin City Center East-Prenzlauer Allee.

Two weeks ago, we explored the beautiful city of Berlin, for the first time. We booked our flights, way back in November, when we found a great deal; $40 return for the two of us. Finding accommodation is always a challenge, especially when traveling to a new city. It’s hard to know which areas are safe, what is centrally located, etc. Luckily, we found a great place to stay in Berlin at the Holiday Inn Berlin City Center East-Prenzlauer Allee.

We had a very smooth checkin, despite arriving much later than anticipated. While we checked-in, they only asked for an ID along with our personal information, no credit card needed as we payed everything online. We only had to pay a total of 6 Euros, upon checkout, for a Berlin accommodation tax.

Our room was of perfect size, with beautiful big windows facing the main road. The hotel is located in a quiet part of town, so the views were nothing extravagant. It was very comfortable for the two of with, with lots of room to walk around & easily enjoy.

Here are some of my favourite features from the room:

  • Big closet space, to store our belongings.
  • A very comfortable queen size bed.
  • Kettle, along with complimentary coffee & tea.
  • TV with a few English channels.
  • Big bathroom with lots of mirrors & great lighting for when getting ready.
  • A desk to work on.
  • Mini bar, which we did not purchase anything from however used as a fridge.

*This hotel also has room service, breakfast & a bar in the lobby.

The Holiday Inn Berlin City Center East-Prenzlauer Allee, is located in a residential area just 10 minutes by tram to Alexanderplatz. It is relatively centrally located with many restaurants, public transportation stops nearby. We really appreciated having a LIDL across the street, where we could buy water bottles and necessities.

Hi there. Thanks for the review. Sounds like a nice hotel. We will be in Germany in May and will remember this place if we make it that far north. Thanks again.
