Travelette Review: The New Linden Hotel.

London

Last week, I experienced London for the first time in my life! A beautiful city, with so much to do, see and places to stay. The list of places to stay went on and on. For months, I was researching places to stay, specifically in Central London, as we wanted to experience the city as much as we can. Through Booking.com, we found the perfect place to stay, in the heart of Notting Hill, The New Linden Hotel.

Checking into the hotel, was smooth and everyone at the front desk was super helpful. They have many different rooms and we were not sure what to expect. When told we would be staying in the basement, I briefly panicked. I mean, I had never stayed in a basement of a hotel before. However, we loved our room! It was petite and yet perfect for the two of us. I can see how sizing can be a problem for some, but for us it was more than enough.

Here are some of my favourite features from the room:

  • Smart TV- so we were able to watch Netflix and the BBC in the morning.
  • My side of the bed had a light dimmer and switch, which made it that much more convenient.
  • A kettle, along with complimentary coffee and tea.
  • A super comfortable double bed.
  • Good size closet to store our belongings.
  • Each room also comes with a smartphone, which can help you navigate the city. Although we did not test this feature out, as we had our own.

Our stay also included free continental breakfast every morning, which we loved! We were able to fill ourselves up before going on our daily adventures. We started our mornings off with a cup of coffee in our room and worked our way towards the breakfast room, once ready. Breakfast is served from 7:30 – 10:00 am.

The options were:

  • Coffee, Tea, Juices.
  • Many different kinds of cereals.
  • A variety of bread.
  • A variety of cold cuts, cheeses & hard boiled eggs.
  • Yogurt + toppings.

Notting Hill is possibly my favourite part of London. I loved the atmosphere and walking around the beautiful streets, seeing all the beautiful homes and surroundings. There are 2 tube stations located close to the New Linden; Bayswater (7 min walk) and Notting Hill Gate (10 min walk), both in Zones 1. There are many restaurants, bars, shops & parks nearby. Also nearby? The Portobello Market & Kensington Palace.

The hotel also has luggage storage, in the basement. The staff were so kind to store our bags upon checkout, at no extra cost!

The New Linden is the perfect place to stay in Central London, especially while on a budget. We got our rooms for $140/a night, a pretty amazing deal! Book your stay at The New Linden by clicking here: http://tidd.ly/78474278
